Before you hire
DIY Equipment Hire Terms & Conditions
Important: These plain-language terms are a website summary and should be reviewed against the final quotation and booking agreement. Nothing in these terms affects a customer’s statutory rights.
1. Booking and Agreement
A booking is confirmed when the quotation is accepted and any stated deposit or payment is received. The quotation will identify the equipment, hire period, collection or delivery arrangements and agreed charges.
2. Payment and Deposit
Payment dates and any refundable security deposit will be clearly shown before booking. Any deductions from a security deposit will be explained and supported by reasonable evidence of loss, damage or additional agreed charges.
3. Collection, Delivery and Return
The customer must be available at the agreed times and return equipment complete, clean and securely packed. Delivery, collection and late-return charges will be stated or explained before they are applied.
4. Safe Use and Supervision
Equipment must be used only for its intended purpose and in accordance with supplied instructions. A responsible adult must supervise equipment used around children. Safety guards, plugs, cables and labels must not be removed or altered.
5. Outdoor and Garden Use
Electrical equipment must be protected from rain, moisture, excessive heat and unsafe ground conditions. Outdoor use must follow the agreed weather and power arrangements. Stop using equipment immediately if conditions become unsafe.
6. Loss or Damage
The customer is responsible for reasonable repair or replacement costs where equipment is lost, stolen or damaged through misuse, avoidable neglect or failure to follow instructions during the hire period. Normal wear and pre-existing faults are excluded.
7. Faults and Support
Any fault must be reported promptly using the supplied contact details. Customers should stop using equipment that appears unsafe. We will provide reasonable troubleshooting, replacement or other appropriate support depending on the circumstances.
8. Changes and Cancellation
Tell us as soon as possible if plans change. Any cancellation charge will be fair, clearly explained and reflect reasonable losses or costs arising from the cancellation, taking account of any savings or ability to rehire the equipment.
9. Customer Information
The customer must provide accurate contact, venue, access and event information. Identification and proof of address may be requested for dry hire. Personal information will be used to administer the enquiry, booking and hire.
10. Responsibility and Rights
Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or liability for faulty or misdescribed goods. These terms do not reduce statutory consumer rights.
